Hi there fellow Pet lovers! Im Wendy, and Welcome to A1 Puppy and Breeder Services Website. All of my life I have lived and breathed dogs...I currently own 5 adult dogs...I just couldnt imagine life without them. Dogs are an amazing animal who are capable of unlimited courage, loyalty, spirit and unconditional love second to none... It is because of them I am where I am today. Having animals in one's life is such a priviledge, I believe an animal should be treated with love, dignity and respect and because of this I enjoy sharing my experience with other animal lovers alike.  I developed this Pet Adoption service to help puppy owners purchase well rounded healthy puppies and with education to keep them them that way

For 20 years I had Worked as an livestock manager for a leading very successful Pet Retailer in NZ. I picked up alot of knowledge from experts in the industry, both old and new veiws and experiences. I have had the opportunity to work along side of many fabulous Breeders, Trainers, Veternarians, Nutritionalists, Pet product Representitives, Pet Rescue Organisations, Specialist Kennel facilities and so many more fantastic people!

I also met hundreds of people who owned poorly behaved dogs. They were never given any guidance from the Petshop or Breeder they purchased their puppy from. I would hear the same story time after time,  they were sold a dodgy dog, as It couldnt be house trained and it has temprement issues so the dog was destined for rehome, the pound or just left to its own devices in the backyard. In the beggining it was easy to love their puppies to bits but training and boundaries were not incorparated into the puppies early life and so the cute behaviour turned into a nightmare as the puppy grew up and often the dog would end up unwanted, unloved, badly behaved and at the pound! Time after time people would come to me and tell me of their bad experiences with breeders and puppies in the past, all because no one took the time to help and explain things and have no aftercare and guiding through the first stages of rehoming. Education is the key! Understanding why dogs do what they do.... and why dogs are not Humans.

In order to provide a quality service I gained NZ recognised levels 1, 2 & 3 Certification in: Dog and Cat Husbandry in the following subjects....Nutrition, Breeding, Genetics, Health and disease, Animal behaviour, Handling and Hygiene, Dog biology, Ethics, History of domestication and general doggy and cat stuff. I Love helping people learn more about their pets and finding the right puppy for my clients, and not to mention the right humans for our puppies!
